Overnight & Respite Care in Nairobi & Kiambu
Overnight presence or a few days' cover so family carers can sleep, work, travel or simply rest — without worrying.
Caring for a parent or partner is a labour of love — and it's exhausting. Family carers who don't get proper sleep or a break eventually burn out. Respite care gives you time to rest, knowing your loved one is in safe hands.
Overnight care
Many older adults need help at night: getting to the toilet safely, settling after confusion or a bad dream, changing position, or a drink of water. I stay overnight and respond calmly, so the family can sleep properly. Night-time is also when falls often happen, so having someone awake or nearby reduces that risk.
Short-term respite
If you need to travel, attend a wedding or funeral upcountry, work long shifts, or simply need a few days to recover, I can cover daytime, evening or several days in a row, following the routine you leave.
Smooth handovers
Before respite starts, we go through the routine, medicines, diet, emergency contacts and preferences together. When you're back, I hand over with notes on how things went.
Overnight & Respite Care: common questions
Do you stay awake overnight? +
We agree this in advance. Some clients need someone awake through the night; others just need someone nearby who wakes when called. The rate reflects which option you choose.
