Elderly Care & Companionship in Nairobi & Kiambu
Kind, patient day-to-day support and company for older adults who want to stay comfortable and independent in their own home.
Growing older at home, surrounded by familiar things, is what most of our parents and grandparents want. But as strength, balance or memory change, everyday life can become harder — and loneliness can creep in, especially when children are at work all day or living abroad.
As a home caregiver, I help older adults in Nairobi keep their routines, their dignity and their sense of independence, while giving families peace of mind.
What a typical visit looks like
Every client is different, so we agree the routine together. A visit might include helping with a morning wash and getting dressed, preparing breakfast, a short walk around the compound, reminding them to take their prescribed medicine, and simply sitting together over tea — talking, reading the newspaper, listening to the radio or looking at old photos.
Companionship matters
Isolation affects health. Many older people eat less, move less and lose interest in things when they're alone for long hours. Regular, warm company — someone who remembers that they like their tea strong, or that Tuesday is their church fellowship day — can make a real difference to their mood and wellbeing.
Noticing changes early
Because I see your loved one regularly, I'm well placed to notice small changes: eating less, new confusion, swelling, a cough, unsteadiness or low mood. I write these down and tell the family straight away so you can involve their doctor early.
Working with your family
Before care starts, we agree in writing what I'll do, the hours, and who to call if something changes. You'll get updates after visits by WhatsApp or a call — whatever suits your family.
