Care for Parents (Families Abroad) in Nairobi & Kiambu
For Kenyans in the UK, US, Gulf and beyond: a trusted, caring presence for your parent in Nairobi, with regular WhatsApp updates.
If you live in London, Dallas, Dubai or Toronto, you know the worry: is Mum eating? Did Dad take his blood pressure tablets? Who would notice if something was wrong? Phone calls only tell you so much.
I provide caring, reliable support for older parents in Nairobi — and keep you in the loop so you can stop guessing.
How it works across time zones
- We start with a video call between you, me and — where possible — your parent and a local relative.
- We agree in writing on duties, visit days, hours, rate and emergency contacts.
- After each visit, you receive a short WhatsApp update: how they are, what they ate, medicines taken, anything I noticed, and a photo if your parent agrees.
- For appointments, you get a same-day summary of what the doctor said.
Trust and transparency
I understand how much trust it takes to leave a parent in someone's care from thousands of kilometres away. I'm open about what I do and don't do, I don't handle a client's money without receipts, and I'm happy to meet a local relative or friend in person before care starts. My training certificate can be seen in person, and references are available on request.
Paying from abroad
Payment can be made by M-Pesa (including from international remittance apps that send to M-Pesa) or by bank transfer, as agreed in advance. No cash changes hands with your parent.
Care for Parents (Families Abroad): common questions
Can my local relative meet you first? +
Yes — I encourage it. A relative or trusted friend can meet me, see my certificate and agree the routine in person before care begins.
What time zone are the updates in? +
Updates are sent after each visit in Kenyan time. If you'd like a regular video call with your parent at a time that suits you, we can schedule it.
