New Mother & Baby Support in Nairobi & Kiambu
Practical, non-medical help for new mothers in the first weeks home — baby bathing and settling, meals, rest, and an extra pair of hands.
The first weeks with a new baby are precious — and exhausting, especially after a caesarean section, with twins, or when family support is far away.
How I help
- Helping with baby bathing, changing, dressing and settling
- Helping mum rest and recover — preparing nourishing meals and drinks
- Washing baby clothes and keeping the nursery area tidy
- An extra pair of hands so mum can sleep, shower or eat in peace
- Day or overnight support, as agreed
Non-medical support only
Clinical care for mother and baby — wound checks, breastfeeding difficulties that need specialist help, jaundice, fever or any illness — must be handled by a midwife, nurse, or doctor. I support breastfeeding mothers practically (comfort, water, rest) and encourage them to contact their clinic or a lactation specialist when needed.
Know the warning signs
For baby: poor feeding, fever, unusual drowsiness, breathing difficulty or yellow skin. For mum: heavy bleeding, fever, severe headache, or feeling very low or unable to cope. Contact your hospital or doctor promptly — in an emergency, call 999 or 112.
