Live-in Caregiver in Nairobi & Kiambu
A dedicated caregiver who lives with your loved one for days or weeks at a time, for steady day-and-night support at home.
Some older adults need more than a few hours of help a day. They may be unsteady at night, forgetful about meals or medicine, or simply too lonely to be left on their own for long. For them, a live-in caregiver can be the difference between staying at home and moving to a care home.
What live-in care looks like
I stay in your loved one's home on agreed days or weeks, following their routine: helping them get up, wash and dress, preparing meals, keeping them active and safe, reminding them about prescribed medicine, and being there in the evening and through the night when help is needed.
Rest is part of good care
A caregiver who never rests cannot care well. We agree in writing on daily rest breaks, a proper place to sleep, and days off — with a family member, friend or relief caregiver covering those times. This keeps your loved one safe and the arrangement sustainable.
Who it suits
- Older adults who can no longer safely live alone
- People with mild to moderate memory changes who do better with one familiar face
- Families who work long hours, travel often, or live abroad
- Parents in Kiambu or upcountry homes whose children live in Nairobi
Clear expectations
Before live-in care starts, we agree duties, hours on and off, food and accommodation, how updates will work, and what happens in an emergency. Live-in care is focused on the client — it is not general housekeeping for the whole household.
Live-in Caregiver: common questions
Does a live-in caregiver work 24 hours a day? +
No. Live-in care includes being present day and night, but with agreed daily rest breaks, proper sleep and days off. Night-time help is fine when needed; if your loved one needs someone awake all night, we plan extra cover.
What does the family provide for live-in care? +
Usually a private or safe sleeping space, meals, and access to washing facilities. We agree all of this in writing before care begins.
