End-of-Life Comfort & Companionship in Nairobi & Kiambu
Gentle personal care, comfort and company for someone in their final months, working alongside their palliative care team and family.
When someone you love is in their final months or weeks, many families want them at home, surrounded by people and things they know. Caring for them can be physically and emotionally overwhelming.
Comfort, dignity and presence
I provide gentle, non-clinical care: keeping your loved one clean and comfortable, changing position regularly, mouth and skin care, offering sips and small meals as they wish, and simply being present — reading, praying, holding a hand, or sitting quietly.
Alongside the palliative team
Pain control and symptom management are clinical, and must be led by doctors and nurses — for example a hospice or hospital palliative care team. I follow their instructions, tell them and the family promptly about pain, breathlessness, restlessness or other changes, and make sure prescribed medicines are not missed.
Supporting the family
Relatives need rest, time to grieve, and time with their loved one that isn't spent on tasks. Day, night or live-in support lets family members sleep, travel in from upcountry or abroad, and be present in the ways that matter most.
Every family's beliefs and traditions are respected.
